Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels

Luminous, vibrant skin is close at hand for those willing to take advantage of an appealing cutting-edge beauty treatment enjoyed by more and more spa clients every year: chemical peels.
The name is a bit deceptive, though, as there’s usually little to no peeling involved in a process that’s helping clients regain hints of their youthful good looks.

During a chemical peel, a solution selected for the appropriate degree of the peel is applied to the clients face and allowed to penetrate the skin.
Peels are divided into a trio of categories: superficial (or lunchtime) peels that gently exfoliate; medium peels treating roughened skin; and deep peels (usually suitable only for a one-time treatment) removing moderate lines and shallow scars.

As a general rule, plan for at least a 20-minute treatment session, although that time may be impacted by the level of peel suggested by your expert treatment specialist.

Your spa’s esthetician can provide the guidance you need in selecting the appropriate level of treatment for lessening the appearance of scars, crow’s feet, fine wrinkles, long term sun-damaged and aging skin, pigment changes and more. Normally results are apparent for about a month, when the skin naturally regenerates.

Usually the candidates best able to benefit from a chemical peel are fair-skinned, light-haired people.
Peels aren’t ideally-suited for clients with a dark-skinned complexion.
